Lead guitarist/ songwriting partner wanted to form an original rock band

Lead guitarist/songwriting partner wanted to form an original rock band. This is a brand new project and will also require a drummer. A kickass bassist has already been added to the lineup. Basically I’m looking for a songwriting/lead guitarist first to get the ball rolling. My strength is writing lyrics and melodies and I need someone that can write the guitar work for new songs and help choose the rest of the lineup, as well as learn the songs we already have in our arsenal.
Finished tracks can be heard on my Myspace page...www.myspace.come/violetegeorge
If you respond to this ad, you must be willing and able to take this project as far as it can go.
No Hobbyists Please. Also, no hard drugs.

Also, no one over the 35ish range please(unless you just look much younger than your age). I wish I didn't have to add that stipulation, but unfortunately this project's ultimate goal is to get signed and unfortunately record labels have a certain image they want to see before they are willing to invest in you. I wish that weren't so.

If you like what you hear and want to be a part of it feel free to send me a message either via MySpace www.myspace.com/violetegeorge or at my other e-mail address violet.george@gmail.com or call 214-717-2914. If you call and don’t get an answer, please leave a message on my voicemail with your call back number.

Thanks!

The variety cover band Shady Train is seeking a new drummer. We are looking for an experienced person that has a great internal meter, can practice once a week and can play out once or twice a month. We have been together for over 4 years now and have been gigging on a regular basis. We have gigs booked and our drummer is moving on to an original band. Out set list is over 60 songs and still growing. We need a drummer that can put the time in to learn our set list quickly and mesh with the band well. Our set list is on our website at www.shadytrain.com
The first audition has not been set yet, but will be soon. Please email me with questions, your experience, what kind of equipment you have and some general info about yourself. We will try out everybody that we feel would be a great fit from the emails. Good Luck!

Preferably some one our own age (20's-30's)
We play a lot of out of town gigs, so travel is a must.

Classic Rock Guitar Player and/or Vocalist Needed to Complete Band

posted: November 18, 2009, 09:43 AM

Bass Player and Drummer looking for a guitar player and/or vocalist to complete our band. We are available on (weekends only) for practice and gigging. Money is not important, but is good to earn when your performance is good. We have a person interested in booking the band when assembled and ready to perform as we lean toward corporate and small club gigs around DFW. We consider this a hobby not a job, so we work hard when the time is right as older/mature musicians with families. We prefer Classic 60's, 70's rock and our own version of recent rock. A little bit of blues and some modern country is ok, too. We practice in Mesquite.

We've been playing/performing since we were young adults and want to continue that good music feeling when performing on stage to a live audience. We expect for you to have good equipment, transportation, and no drama need apply here. We don't smoke or drink but don't care if others do. Reply back if interested in pursuing this with a meeting and audition.

Drummer and Lead Guitarist/Songwriting Partner wanted to form an original rock band. Must be dedicated, passionate about their abilities, and very driven. You must also have your own professional grade gear and reliable transportation. This is a brand new project. A kickass bassist has already been added to the lineup. Basically we are looking for a drummer and a lead guitarist that can not only write music for new songs but can also learn the songs already in our arsenal. If you respond to this ad, you must be willing and able to take this project as far as it can go. The ultimate goal of this band is to get signed. (and no I’m not kidding or delusional :-) Financing has already been put aside for press packets, recording of more demos, and an entertainment attorney when the time arises that we need one. In other words, no hobbyists please and no hard drugs. Above all, no flakes…if you are unreliable please do not respond to this ad.

Also, no one over the 35ish range please (unless you just look much younger than your age). I wish I didn't have to add that stipulation, but this project's ultimate goal is to get signed and unfortunately record labels have a certain image they want to see before they are willing to invest in you. If you have any recordings or videos of yourself playing please include the links to that in your response

Thanks and have a great day!

I recently moved to DFW from Seattle. Interested in joining or forming a top 40 cover band playing up-tempo, melodic pop rock and alternative rock dance hits from all eras, 60s to the present, disco included. I have professional gear, two drum sets, mics and a monitor. I know hundreds of songs, and can learn new ones quickly. I've been in cover bands in St. Louis, Atlanta and Seattle. I have a 9-6 M-F corporate job, so I'm only available Friday nights, Saturdays and Sundays. I play a steady tempo w/ a strong backbeat, and know a lot of cool fills and beats. I don't over-play. I'm reliable and have a great attitude. Also available for fill-in / substitute work. References available from former band members. Colin

Professional Drummer looking for working Country band.

posted: November 16, 2009, 10:07 AM

Replyrythmikrecords@yahoo.com

My Name is Joe Sanchez.

I have been in the music industry recording, touring, performing, writing, producing, engineering professionally for about 8 yrs now. I am now 25yrs of age and after a few months of not being on the road and on stage i am definitely ready to get back out there. I have been working a lot with country music and recognized artists and that is what i want to do. I notice that this market is a lot more professional, disciplined and the quality of musician is at a higher standing point.

I can play many styles... Modern Country, traditional, Rock, Blues, Latin, Mexican, Funk, etc.... I am influenced by all types of music and when it comes to the country style i have been focused on playing lately, i like to go over styles like, Jason Aldean, Rascal Flatts, Johnny Cooper, Josh Abbot, Brooks n Dunn, Zack Brown Band, Darious Rucker, Taylor Swift, Tracy Byrd, Aaron Watsun, Eli Young Band, Brad Paisley....etc. Obviously i like it all and would like to find a band that is influenced by many styles as well.

I am a Solid Drummer who likes to keep it in the pocket and have fun when needed. I am all about the groove and having a great feel. I guess being a percussionist as well has taught me that feeling is a part of everything.

I write original music and can also sing either for lead assisting or full harmonies... i enjoy getting crazy with harmonies but can be very picky about getting the whole vocal line to nail them. HARMONIES HAVE TO BE RIGHT. I live off of music and thank god i have gotten to a point where it is all i do. I produce and work at the recording studios during the week and either run live sound for country shows and or perform on the weekends. I can also play, keys, percussion, guitar, bass, and accordion (lol... you just never know).

Anyways, I am looking for a band that has a good positive outlook of what they are doing. Maybe someone established with a good agent, manager and name. I am trying to get with a band that has put out an album or is working on putting out an album and accomplishing big things in the market. when it comes to style of music, I would like something new age, hip, either texas country or nashville style.... but something that the people will eat up. as long as we can all have fun, enjoy what we are performing and lock down as one.... i will be totally up for it.

Hope to hear from someone soon.

Band Looking For Good Female or Male Singer In DFW

Hi,

Thanks for thanking the time to read our ad.

We (Guitar, Bass, and Drummer) are looking for a GOOD, Solid, Professional Singer for our band. That can be a hard person to find in the DFW area. Let me just say that we are professionals, and we are looking for the same. We are not placing this add to waste your time, or ours. I know that sounds cold. But, I mean it in the best possible way.

The drummer and I have both been in signed bands over the last 10 years. We have too many credits to go into here. We are very professional with pro gear and pro attitudes.

We seek a female singer who is versatile. Some good influences could include the singers for "HALESTORM", "Evanescence", Ann Wilson, Tracy Bonham, Chrissie Hynde, Debbie Harry, Melissa Etheridge, Susan Tedeschi, Janis Joplin, Siouxie Sue, Exene Cervenka, Patti Smith, etc.

Or a male singer who is versatile. Some good influences could include, Chris Cornell, Maynard James Keenan, Ian Gillan, Robert Plant, Layne Staley, etc.

I understand that it can be hard starting a new band, we are at that point right now. Once we find the right person it will go fast. We have a ton of songs ready to go. We just need you.

Thanks again,

Band

Band Looking For A Drummer...

We are looking for an individual who can...
Commit to the band & music,
Stay away from hard drugs,
Avoid drinking like it is going out of style,
Is between the ages of 18-24,
Is down with rehearsing at least twice a week,
Doing at least two gig a month,
And recording a record,

We are a rock band...
A singer that tends to remind people of... Johnny Cash, Ian Curtis, and or Black Francis,
A guitarist who shreds unlike most with a sound that can only be defined as strange,
A bassist who keeps the band in line,
Performances that tend to drag people off the street and dance... at times [dancing that is],
Music that has been described as... 'southern rock' 'blues' 'brit rock' 'trip rock' and as of recent... 'desert rock',

All in all, we would like a permanent drummer for this band. One we can adopt into the family... you know?

e-mail us at: americanstrange@ymail.com
Or catch us through the myspace...
www.myspace.com/americanstrange

We are currently wrapping up our next EP due to release before the end of the year. We have a really good fill in drummer, however, we would really like to find a member who can really call this band home.

So, if you feel interested, please do contact us and let us know if you would like to try out.

First, please listen to our originals to make sure that you're a good musical fit:
http://myspace.com/andenmusic

We have recorded a CD of 12 such songs. We also have developed a healthy stable of cover songs, a complete list of which can be viewed at http://anden.net/Covers.html

OUR GOALS:
--Gigs playing all originals, all covers, any combo thereof
--Gigs 1-2 times/month
--Rehearsal 1-2 times/month
--Develop more original material, and record another CD

ABOUT US:
--All of us are responsible adults with families and careers
--Very professional attitude
--Very flexible in most regards (logistical, creative)
--Committed to creative freedom: You play what you want, provided it fits with the song.

ABOUT YOU:
--Good communicator: Respond to emails and phone calls; don't go AWOL.
--Responsible: You've got all your own (working) gear and show up on time to band events.
--We are happy to assist with the learning process during rehearsals, but you need to be committed enough to listen to the songs outside of rehearsal and get them into your head.
--We're interested in a working with a full-time member, a solid creative partner, a good friend, but not a hired gun.

NEXT STEPS:
--We'll be conducting phone interviews to respondents to this ad.
--Finalists will learn some of our material and participate in an audition/jam.
--Our time frame is as soon as we can responsibly pull this off, as we have gigs accumulating on the horizon.

Established band looks for committed drummer!

Hello,

My name is Otter and I am the lead singer/manager for my band of brothers called Night Gallery. We are an alt rock group from all over DFW and we are in search of a new drummer between the ages of 21 to 30.

Now instead of giving you a laundry list of requirements like most bands do, we only ask of 5 things.

1. Must be committed!

2. Must have a job! (dont care if you work at Taco Bell)

3. Must have own equipment!

4. Must have transportation!

5. No DRUGS!!! (alcohol is ok as long as it does not run your life)

Although experience is key we will not hold it against you if you dont have 13 years playing under your belt. After all there is always room to learn and grow, especially with your brothers in arms.

Now for a little bit about us. The band has been together for a little over a year and we have already made a little head way in the local scene. We dont want to boast about some of our accomplishments becasue thats just not our style. We are very humble about the oppertunities that have come our way and consider ourselves lucky. At the bottom of this post I have provided a link to our myspace. I would tell you about all of our influences but I would rather just have you take a listen for yourself. Not that I am lazy, I just feel that we are doing something different that what most people are doing. We like to have fun and we quote movies constantly, but we take what we do seriously.

We recently made our practice home at Pro Rehearsal Studios in Dallas (Iron Ridge location) where we currently practice twice a week. We have shows lined up and new material to be worked on, so we are ready to find the right person to step in.

If you like what you hear and are inrested in auditioning for our band please feel free to respond back to us, or you may text me at anytime @ 817-925-8806 and we will get the ball rolling.

www.myspace.com/nightgallery08

Thanks for your time!

Your brother in rock,

Otter
