A studio recording you can afford in Garland, Texas

posted: November 19, 2009, 05:42 AM

Replytomj@flash.net

So many ads here for recording studios. I know that all musicians enjoy recording. You've got a lot of choices: Do it yourself, record in somebody's home studio, record with a student in a recording school, go to a full-time studio. I've done all of these, too.

My studio is kind of different. I'm in a small, professional studio that is growing into a big studio. I'm doing this by low prices, hard work and excellent results.

I've spoken with people that are in a band and can't get the right drum sound by recording themselves. I know what that's like. I can solve that. They've brought in tubas, sitars and choirs. No worries.

I've spoken to rappers and singers that hate the sound of their own microphones, even if it's only for a mix tape. I've spoken to lots of rappers that are spending too much money for studio time, when they aren't really doing anything very complicated. They just need a great mic and some production help. I do that a lot.

I've met singer/songwriters that want to capture their music in its best form. Professional quality, they welcome ideas about working the sound to build a song that they have only imagined so far. This is easy if you have the right tools - I do.

Finally, I've met bands that have never recorded and they just want to get it done inexpensively and have it sound like a million bucks. I've totally been there.

So, why should you bring your recording project to Garland Recording Studio? I know that you could record anywhere. I know that you are making a recording that you'll keep your entire life and this is extremely important to you.

I've got the tools and the experience to get your project captured right. We'll do it all together; record, mix and master. You'll leave with a finished CD. My studio is in a commercial building near downtown Garland, the rent is not high, so I don't have to charge very much. I have a full time job with benefits already, so I don't rely on studio income to feed my kids. I don't have to charge you very much to keep the studio open. In fact, I price it at the very lowest hourly rate that I can - because I want the studio to stay packed with happy customers. I want somebody in there recording every night. That's the way I am building my business, and that's the way it has been for nearly two years in this location.

I am still running at only $ 25 per hour to record, mix and master.

What do you get for your money? Neumann microphones (U87Ai vocal mic, matched pair KM184MT mics, Sennheiser 421 drum mics, plus more). API preamp (API 512C) and API 550B equalization. Pro Tools, with WAVES Mercury and SSL bundles for effects. Need an amp or keyboard? I've got the best: Marshall tube (Triple Super Lead) amp and a Yahama ES8 Motif. 5 string Fender American deluxe bass guitar. Lots more instruments. I am careful to buy the highest quality studio equipment . I select tools that will result in the best quality recording. I'm not going to tell you that my vocal mic sounds just like a Neumann U87... You're going to be using a real Neumann U87, at a price you can actually afford. And there's nothing that sounds as good as this mic. You already know that.

I work fast, and I am an excellent Pro Tools editor. We're going to get it DONE. Probably faster than you've ever seen anyone work in Pro Tools. I'd love to show you what I mean... how about a studio tour?

I am a careful listener. If you have an idea, if you have effect that you like or don't like, I am working for you and will honestly work with you. I'm a grown up man, I'm going to treat you with courtesy and make sure you are getting what you want. I've got hundreds of happy customers that will confirm this, if you'd like. I can send some you phone numbers on request. Or just come out and visit the studio and see for yourself.

Finally, I am a one man shop. I don't pay additional staff to answer my phone or record when I am not available. I don't have to pay anybody's salary. I record every single person that comes into my studio. Everything that is recorded at Garland Recording Studio reflects on me, and goes out the door in a way that I am proud of. I frequently run in to customers and friends all over Dallas, I often connect my customers with other musicians or venues and I value those friendships. I go out of my way to protect our relationship. That is a promise, and it's one that a lot of people enjoy with me. I'm glad to be a part of your success, and I want us to work together for years to come.

I hope you'll take a minute to listen to the sample recordings on my studio's web site.

http://www.garlandrecordingstudio.com

I also hope you'll give me a call. Tell me about your recording project and I'll lay out a plan that will really help you get it done inexpensively and sounding professional.

Thanks.

-Tom

Guitar, Voice, Piano, Drums, Bass, Sax, Flute, Oboe, Songwriting, Mandolin Lessons & Bands

Fun and Excellence at 20% lesson than comparable quality instruction. Mention this ad for $40 off one month of sessions.

Promethean Studios is the premier location in the Metroplex for lessons and bands, at prices 20 percent less than comparable quality instruction. We offer beginner through professional level lessons and bands, for all ages, at all levels, in all styles of music. Guitar, Voice, Piano-Keyboards, Drums-Percussion, Bass, Sax, Flute, Trumpet, Oboe, Ukulele, Mandolin, Praise & Worship, and Songwriting Lessons in the Dallas-area.

YOU ARE WASTING YOUR MONEY on lessons unless you have a great teacher with a great program. With excellent instructors and learning techniques students grow at an accelerated rate, cutting their learning time dramatically (and the amount of money ultimately spent on lessons). In our studios, you will have a personable player as a teacher, who crafts our program to enable you to play or sing the music you love, not the music your teacher likes.

Our teachers have observed over 100 student lessons, they have learned and follow the Promethean curriculum for their instruments, and have played an average of 15 years. Promethean teachers are career musicians; they’re dedicated players and singers skilled in their art, who understand what it feels like to want to make music. Our methods teach people to become great while having a blast. Our students become musicians and players or singers who like what they’re doing, not just people who take lessons. And they get to play and sing the songs they love while still learning correct techniques.

BANDS: In addition to private lessons we offer various styles of bands. Be in a band (4 to 10 students) that plays music you love with other people your age, like yourself, and with a teacher to lead, supervise, and critique. You’ll play cool songs, maybe get a chance to improvise or write a song with the group. Your band will meet once a week for 4 months and culminate in a live performance which will be recorded and you’ll get a CD. All instruments are welcome, not just ones we teach - Guitar • Keyboard-Piano • Voice • Drums • Bass • Winds • Strings!! Styles of bands offered are Country, Jazz, Classic Rock, Classical, Modern Rock, R & B, Praise & Worship, Blues, and Metal.

Call 972-422-3362, email us at info@dallasmusiclessons.com, or visit our website at WWW.DALLASMUSICLESSONS.COM for more information.

ANNAMERCURY, band begins live shows in November 2009 and CD release debuts!!!

Press Release:

ANNAMERCURY

Marinated together in early 2009 as the 5 member band like blending choice seasoned spices in a culinary treasure to create rock music for the world. Although, initially each member helms from different corners of the west region of the United States. They met and formed the band while living in Seattle, WA after a consistent time of artistically crossing paths. The underlining unspoken message the men want to say with their music is: “From the basement, to all the listening and visual audiences everywhere this is for you”.

“AM” (AnnAMercury) is comprised of Brady singing lead vocals, Jeff playing drums, Robin strumming the bass, with guitars being laced by both Pete and Ryan. All five share a mutual inner passion for music and a quiet determination to be as good as they possibly can be. The music that the band chooses to create is original in nature with a savory rock-n-roll flavor. And each member contributes by drawing on their own musical backgrounds in a combination of ways to make the songs happen.

After only seven months in the making the band is currently working on finishing its first songs to be recorded as an EP late summer in the legendary London Bridge Studio. Also, be sure to look for the band to begin their live public performances this coming November 2009 with much fanfare debut.

EP release date is scheduled for November 15th 2009...You don't want to miss it! Checkout and follow the band at: (www.myspace.com/annamercurylive) & (www.reverbnation.com/annamercury)

Thank you,
ANNAMERCURY

Professional Bass player available NOW!

posted: November 18, 2009, 10:01 AM

Replyelgroovo@tx.rr.com

Professional bass player with years of experience available for working band. I play all styles. I am interested in projects where all members have equal input into material selection and everyone is open for constructive criticism. Do not want to be part of anyone’s “Pet Project”. I do this for fun mostly so equal input with fairly normal people is a must. If you do Classic Rock at least please be able to choose your own and not what the Classic Rock radio stations tell you is the only Classic Rock out there ( Beatles, Stones, Santana, Bob Seger, and Lynyrd Skynyrd are not the only rock that is Classic…..you get my point). I mean how about some Marshall Tucker Band, mix in a little of the lesser known Kansas and then some Journey and even Boston. I could go on and on but I hope you get it. Bottom line is I am looking for some kick ass musicians to play with here. Hit me back on here and we will exchange phone numbers and talk.

Classic Rock Guitar Player and/or Vocalist Needed to Complete Band

posted: November 18, 2009, 09:43 AM

Bass Player and Drummer looking for a guitar player and/or vocalist to complete our band. We are available on (weekends only) for practice and gigging. Money is not important, but is good to earn when your performance is good. We have a person interested in booking the band when assembled and ready to perform as we lean toward corporate and small club gigs around DFW. We consider this a hobby not a job, so we work hard when the time is right as older/mature musicians with families. We prefer Classic 60's, 70's rock and our own version of recent rock. A little bit of blues and some modern country is ok, too. We practice in Mesquite.

We've been playing/performing since we were young adults and want to continue that good music feeling when performing on stage to a live audience. We expect for you to have good equipment, transportation, and no drama need apply here. We don't smoke or drink but don't care if others do. Reply back if interested in pursuing this with a meeting and audition.

Serious Country Guitarist needed..

We are looking for a serious lead guitar that can play country...please, not someone who really plays rock and says they can play country. We are a traditional Country Band with strong vocals and solid seasoned musicians on drums, bass and rhythm.. We will be adding keyboards, fiddle and steel as needed. Contacts are in place.
We practice twice a week in Azle and have gigs ready to book all through 2010- as soon as the final piece is in place... Some as early as January.
Check out the website at www.brandon-wayne.com and then let me know if you would like to chat-
No addictions or drama please-
I'm trying to keep my faith that there really are good people who care about the music and take pride in their performance without all the drama- I am not here to babysit anyone...

I look forward to hearing from you!

Experienced BASS player looking to Join/Start Rock band!!

Replybrockkiemel@yahoo.com

Relocating from Los Angeles to Dallas towards the end of the year, (sooner if the right project comes along) and am looking to get a serious project in the works asap.

I'm 24 years old, have played in signed bands, have toured Nationally, have experience in the studio, experience booking on a local and National level, Have pro gear, have great contacts, and put a lot of emphasis on the live show.

Im Very picky about my tone. When it comes to playing... keep it tasteful.

I'm thinking something along the lines of Backyard Babies, D-Generation, Turbonegro, Bullets And Octane, Buckcherry, Bangkok Five, Motorhead, ect... but am open. Just no metal, Country, Whatever style Nickleback type bands are, or hip hop.

Im looking for everything but bass. Please be at least moderately experienced, understand the importance of when to go all out and when to lay back and just keep it tasteful, have good gear, have a good look, 21 - 28 years old prefered, a team player, down to earth, no drug or alcohol problems (I don't care if you party... just dont let it affect the band), and leave the ego on the stage.

If this sounds like something you'd be interested in reply with a bit about your musical history/aspirations, a recent picture or link to myspace, and samples of past work.

WILL TRAVEL FOR THE RIGHT PROJECT.

Thanks!

Hi,

I'm Chris Dempsey, and I've been actively gigging and teaching professionally in Dallas for about 4 years now. I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin Music School and have continued my education with many great private teachers. I have experience performing, recording, and writing music on guitar, voice, and bass guitar, and I would like to help you or your child achieve your musical goals. We can work with any materials, books, or songs that you are interested in, but I will provide written materials for you to work on at home, so they are not a requirement. We will also work with music you are interested in via MP3 player or CD. Please bring a 3-ring binder for tablature and handouts.

Best of luck in your studies and on your instrument,
Always feel free to call me with any questions,
