We are a small non-profit organization in the DALLAS / RICHARDSON / PLANO / IRVING area and are looking for groups, businesses or offices that would be interested in "adopting" a family for the holiday season. With the help of local elementary school counselors, we identify families in the area that are in need of assistance during the holiday season. We then pair these families with local companies, groups, organizations, clubs and individual families who want to "adopt" one family and as a group help to provide their needs.

Needs vary by family, but are generally along the lines of shoes, clothes, toys, games, baby items, school supplies and household items. We supply your office with information filled out by the family. It will outline some of the family's needs and also some things that they might want. Your group would then, as a group, try to supply the items on their need list and hopefully some of their wants.

The 2nd annual DFW Hedgehog Show and Sonic the Hedgehog Convention is looking for volunteers to join the team working towards next year's event. The show next year is November 5,6, & 7th at the Southfork Hotel in Plano, Texas. This will be our first year as a full blown Sonic fan convention as well as Hedgehog show/convention and we NEED YOU!

Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age, have a clean criminal background, and be drug-free.
Our event is a family event featuring the only IHA hedgehog show in Texas and an anime themed convention for Sonic the Hedgehog fans (as well as a few other hedgehog related animes). The event is a combination pedigree hedgie show and anime convention. YES your pet hedgehog can come with you and even stay over night at the hotel and participate in Cosplay!

The Dallas Area Paranormal Society currently consist of over 135 Members, with a Case Management Division Staff of 3, and an Investigations Management Division of 10 members (3 Investigators-in-Training & 9 Investigators) not including myself as President. We average 1 investigation per month (12 per year), and we hope to average 1.5 investigations per month (18 per year) in 2009-2010. Outside of Investigations we also offer Paranormal Classes, Tours, and Services.



Here is an explanation on our Member status levels below.



We have three classes of membership:



1. Observer Member - Is a member that is only on the yahoo group & the forum and "observes" our organization through the yahoo group & the forum.



2. Full Member - Is a member that has attended Two "Meet and Greets" or one "Meet & Greet" and a"Pre-Investigation Meeting" (must be at least 18 years old).



3. Investigator-in-Training (I-in-T)- A Full Member that has been allowed to attend an investigation, is consider an Investigator-in-Training (I-in-T) from the moment their first investigation starts. The I-in-T is then placed with the Training Coordinator / Investigator (TC/I) to train them. Only at the TC/I's discretion is the I-in-T is placed with other Investigators for further training. If the TC/I is not available this responsibility falls to the President.



3. Investigator - An Investigator-in-Training that has shown a unique talent on several investigations, and has been voted in by a majority of the Investigators to become an Investigator.

Create the ultimate gift while taking some time for YOU during the chilly and busy holiday months ahead. This 4-week miniseries will give you a serious yet playful workout and a full routine by the end of the four weeks. You'll learn progressively intricate Zensual Dance™ sequences and build your personal chair dance. After learning the framework, you'll enhance your dance with poses, vignettes, and alternative sequences. Music selections, themes and specific moves will be offered so you can make your dance unique. An alternate sensual sequence will be taught so that you can offer the ultimate gift of YOU if you so choose. Or you may want to keep your sexy chair dance in your back pocket as a reminder of your sensual side. Whatever you want to get out of this experience, you're sure to laugh, play and challenge yourself throughout each hour-long class. The final class (December 10) will include candlelight dances and refreshments. You will also receive a high-quality, retouched Sexy Chair Photo as a gift or keepsake. 



Please bring: flexible knee pads (may be purchased at Walmart or Target for less than $9), high heels (no street-worn shoes please), water. Wear long exercise pants and a t-shirt to protect your skin when working on the chairs.
