Unless it's a common problem that I can easily recognize and fix directly on the board, it is often easier and less costly to replace boards.
A common repair service of a 32'' to 42'' LCD HDTV ends up being anywhere between $55 and $150 with quality brands like Sony and Samsung going higher (their parts are simply more expensive).

Please note I DO NOT work with tube (old fashioned cathode ray tube) or projection TVs; both of those are bulky, heavy and I just stay out of them. I advise people to do the same.

Another thing I do not do is fix broken LCDs! If someone hit the display of your LCD TV and it's now showing garbage my advice is to start shopping for a new TV and sell the old one for as much as you can. I pay $50 for broken display LCD and Plasma TVs.
